Action

Over the course of 2.5 weeks, I worked directly with Michelle and her team to develop copy and script that would help shape the candid conversations for a full video series. In this project role, I directed talent, filmed on location, and managed all post-production work.

Building a Communication Plan

with Cisco’s Connected Asian Affinity Network

Overview

In Cisco’s fiscal year ‘19, the employee resource group, CAAN (Connected Asian Affinity Network), tasked me with designing an end-to-end communications strategy intended for CAAN leadership members.  The strategy would be used to help leadership members handle communication requests and the like, while adhering to brand guidelines and protocols.

Action

Over the course of 1.5 weeks, I worked with the CAAN leadership team to understand basic requirements for what the communication strategy was going to be used for. After collecting insights and feedback, I established tiers of communication guidelines for how leadership members could communicate across the organization and company.

Result

After establishing a set list of guidelines, I was able to finalize a strategy template for communication. This template is structured in such a way that any CAAN leadership member can leverage in their own communication messaging, while adhering to brand guidelines and protocols.

A Story Worth Sharing

honoring those at cisco on armistice day

Overview

In Cisco’s fiscal year ‘19, the Cisco Veterans employee resource group approached me with a project to create a story highlighting veterans at Cisco; what their transition from active service was like, best practices to follow and share with other veterans, and sharing their very own personal stories.

Action

Over the course of 1.5 weeks, I worked with several Cisco veteran employees (either reservists in active service or retired) to interview them on their military experience. Additionally, I asked each of them what their service was like and how their knowledge and experience could help others transitioning from the service into the civilian workforce.

Result

Garnering over a combined count of 2,500+ views internally at Cisco, this project proved meaningfully and sentimentally successful in telling the stories of Cisco veteran employees. This story was broadcasted through several channels across Cisco on Armistice Day 2018 and helped with Cisco’s Veterans Career Transition Day (VCTD). Cisco’s VCTD is dedicated to those who are transitioning from their military careers to civilian life. Cisco and other participating companies host a day-long event where transitioning vets can learn about career options, get resume-writing tips and network with Cisco employees and other veterans.
